Residence won this project through a tender process with AKA Architects. Mosmo Living was involved in the initial design before we got involve.
Amy from AKA stayed on throughout the build and I thoroughly enjoyed working with her.
Paul and Nicole were fantastic clients – engaging, involved and happy.
Their existing 1950 house in Magill was a little dated and needed much needed natural light. As the plans were sorted before my arrival, the challenge was to execute the brief, which comes with a whole other challenge. As Amy and Melissa spent a year or so with Paul and Nicole, to come in at the eleventh hour and pick up and understand the expectation from all stakeholders was challenging.
Paul’s family was growing and he needed to extend the living. We added a master suite, with ensuite, walk in robe and laundry. We also added a office nook and extended the kitchen to suite the new space.
Due to budget realities Paul and Nicole were included in this project on all different levels, and did exceedingly well. Paul was a part of the trade list with painting internally and polishing his timber floors. We achieved a crisp outcome and I’m extremely happy.
I think Penfold Road will be remembered for the collaborative approach in building together and the next level finish we achieved with a client working so closely with us.
Many thanks to Amy for her assistance in chasing her design and to Paul and Nicole, whose passion and commitment matched my endeavours and pushed this project to the next level. I’m forever grateful for the experience guys.
